Importance of Using Licenced Host Families

Home boarding is still regarded as a relatively new concept by many people. However, since Creature Comforts began in 2005, there have been many changes within the industry.

The main change has been the implementation of licencing home boarders. This is done by Local Authorities and every person who runs a home boarding business, bringing in an income of £1000.00 or more per annum must, by law, have a home boarding licence.

Traditional checks with added confidence

Here at Creature Comforts, we have always had a very strict policy when it came to recruiting host families. We still continue to recruit in the same way as we did before, a tried and tested method, which has worked very successfully over the years. However, for your peace of mind, you now have the added security that our host families are also
licenced by their local authority.

Licenced Host Families for Home Boarding Dogs

Despite this, our unique approach of allowing you to meet the host family who will be caring for your dog prior to commencement of the booking still applies. As I started this business with my own dogs in mind, I personally would still feel uncomfortable with leaving my dog with a family I had never met before despite our rigorous checks and the fact they held a home boarding licence.

Peace of mind

Home boarding is a fantastic concept which works so well because the dogs become part of the family during their stay. Therefore, a great way to start is to meet with the family, see their home and exactly where you dog will enjoy their holiday. This is not something all home boarding companies offer but we have always felt it to be an integral part of our service. We realise it is a big step leaving your dog for the first time and ensure every box is ticked so you can go away with complete peace of mind your dog is in the very best of hands.
